Seth Charles Mkisi
Founder and Managing Director, SHAMBA BOX
I am Founder & Managing Director of Shamba Box, a not-for-profit Entrepreneurship and Business Support Organization in Tanzania and an AfriLabs member since 2025. My work bridges digital innovation and smallholder productivity across Tanzania and East Africa.
Over nine years, I have mentored 100+ founders, trained 150+ entrepreneurs, and delivered 7+ international contracts with partners including WFP, FAO, and SNV. I am currently Technical Assistance Consultant for VC4A's develoPPP Ventures programme and Advisor to Simusolar Ltd under the EU H2020 SESA Project. In 2025, I was recognized as one of Tanzania's 100 Changemakers.
Proposed session: Building Ecosystems, Not Events
Lessons from building FoodHack Dar es Salaam and co-designing the AgriTech4Tanzania Innovation Challenge with CGIAR, UNIDO, and TARI. Why patient capital and institutional partnerships matter more than one-off events — and how to build convening that outlasts the room.
