Khalila Sandrah Mbowe
Managing Director and CEO, Unleashed Africa Enterprises
Khalila Sandrah Mbowe is an entrepreneur, systems builder and the Founder of Unleashed Africa. She has nearly two decades of experience building organisations, programmes and partnerships across enterprise development, innovation ecosystems, youth economic participation, the creative economy and community-led development.
Her work is carried through three core brands: QARA, an enterprise-development and ecosystem-building platform and home of the Africa Opportunity Dashboard; MELACHA, which is building the institutions and systems needed for Africa’s creative economy; and AMAR, a youth-development and technology brand building development technology from community up.
Khalila’s work has reached more than 250,000 young people, supported access to over USD 300,000 in financing and enabled creatives to generate more than TZS 140 million in income. She holds an MBA from the African Leadership University School of Business and was named among Tanzania’s Top 100 Changemakers in 2025. Through her work and public voice, she advocates for African-led institutions that connect talent and ideas to markets, capital, technology and meaningful economic participation.
